So many flowers to choose from and places to plant them! Take time to decide if you have sun, shade, or a combination of both. Choose your color palette and whether they will be in the ground or in planter boxes or baskets.

I am considering the use of containers for planting. After reading several articles, I understand there are many different container materials to choose from (clay, metal, wood, etc.). Could you explain how my choice in materials might impact the maintenance?
Clay is ideal because it doesn’t absorb water like Wood pots would. And unless your in a cool climate without extreme amounts of sunlight I would avoid metal because it might be prone to overheating which could be bad for the health of the plant and root system.
